Beautiful Scenes in Otherwise Forgettable Movies

Cameron Crowe’s Aloha (2015) was a convoluted mess of a movie, it was disjointed, bizarre and even cringeworthy at times but Bradley Cooper, Emma Stone, Rachel McAdams and newcomer Danielle Rose Russell all gave solid performances.

One scene in particular, toward the end of the film literally brought me to tears. Bradley Cooper’s character (Brian) finally decides to let Russel’s character (Grace) know he’s her real father. In the scene Brian comes to Grace’s Hawaiian dance class, there was no dialogue just raw, emotive acting, I still cry when I see it.

Aloha (2015)

The whole scene plays out more subtly than 10 screen caps could ever convey, the film is worth seeing for this scene alone. In the case of Aloha at least, the sum of the parts were greater than the whole.

I have my own Grace in real life, but she already knows I’m her father, I’m just waiting to have my own scene like this one. I love you Alicia.
